From Auckland, New Zealand / Hans Christian 43T Ketch (8001113)

Hello Brad,

I have finally fitted both sails & used them for the first time........THEY ARE PERFECT........I am very happy with them, thank you, a job well done. I have been very satisfied with every part of the process, from first contacting you to very quickly receiving the finished product. You have been very professional, promptly replying to emails & keeping me well informed of progress. I would thoroughly recommend Fareastsails! Best regards

Dawn, SY Quiet One

From Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand / Radford 400 (8000828)

Hello Brad,

I now have the sail. I am most impressed with the cut which provides a perfect set; no creases when flying. It is a "mile-eater" and certainly visible. The yellow has no shame! It was used when sailing up the east coast from Wellington to the Bay Of Islands and added significantly to daily distances covered.

Thanks for the service.

From Bonville, NSW, Australia / Camp-cruising catamaran (8000932)

I have received the sail - it is beautiful and I am very happy with it. Thank you for your patience and to your sailmakers for their work.

From Seabrook, Texas / Sabre 38 (8000827) (Warp Drive Sail set)

My new sails are really excellent, I could not be happier. We have been racing on Saturdays this month and have done very well with them, especially in heavy air. The 110 jib allows me to keep a full main up to at least 25 knots true. Of course, when it was only blowing 10, we didn't do so well. But that's alright, I like how easy this sail is to trim vs the old 150. I will get pictures asap.

From La Paz, Mexico / Hughes 38 (8001103)

Hey Brad.

Finally left LA Paz and flew the main you built me, damn man, that's a lovely sail. If you ever need an endorsement for your sails come to me first.

Thanks for a great sail.

Hi Brad,

Have finally had good enough weather to try the new kite. Went out in about 10kts wind, solo. Engaged the auto helm, set up the tack and sheet, hauled up the halyard, pulled up the snuff and pop! the sailed filled immediately while I was still on the foredeck! Sail is quite forgiving and can be sailed through about 20 degrees without re trimming. Of course that is in cruising mode. Attached a couple of crappy photos, taken from aboard so you can’t sees much but the picture of the instruments tell a happy story!

The 155 & main you built for me are kick-ass sails. Need a new mainsail Cover and a modified 120 head sail. Took one handicap 1st this summer. Smallest boat in the race against about 15 larger boats, half of which had their masts in the water and we were the only boat that didn't even get water in the cockpit. Hoping that you still got all the numbers for my boat!

Dear Team of Far-East-Sails,

While under cruising the oceans, from Israel to Caribbean, to Brazil and the Beagle Channel, we ordered a new genoa and an asymmetrical spinnaker from you which we received in Uruguay. The order completion was very professional, your help and advices super and the prices good. Still we were overwhelmed when we also saw the quality of your work done after the delivery! We continued our cruise with the new sails to the southernmost city (Ushuaia) and the southernmost yacht club (Micalvi, Pto. Williams), sailed up the Patagonian channels to Pto. Montt, up the Pacific to Valparaiso and crossed over to French Polynesia and returned from there to Chile after visiting most of the islands. We are still very happy about the sails from you and the stormy and often raw conditions proved their quality.

Many thanks and keep going this way!

Bonjour Brad

From Melbourne Australa / Herreshoff 28 (6000729)

Dear Brad,

Just dropping a line to really thank you and your team for all the hard work that you guys put on the making of my sails to keep me going. It is still hard to believe it was delivered in the time frame you had promised.

The sails were impeccable and fit like a glove with no wastage of area. Was very impressed with the overall profile of the mainsail, specially being battenless. Every little detail that I adamantly asked for was manufactured to specification, couldn't be any happier with it.

Am buying another yacht for another crossing in Apr 2014, and will certainly be contacting you then...

Once again, I sincerely thank you for the amazing sails.

Best regards, for you and your team

From Nova Scotia, Canada / Reliance 44 (5000828)

I have finally managed to get some pictures of the new mainsail in action.
It set beautifully from day one, reefs nicely and we feel powers the boat better than the old.

Only two negatives can be mentioned: (1) the reef line jam cleats were installed upside down
and had to be bolted on the right way. (2) The batten cars create friction on the mast making
dropping the sail a bit tedious. We bought 11/2" battens which are a bit stiff adding to this matter.

Thanks again for all your assistance in getting this sail.

We have recommended you to several other boaters; hope you get their orders.

We are quite pleased with the sail and your company.  Everything done in an as promised manner.  We have been sailing a half dozen times with the new genoa.  While not in a gale yet we have sailed in winds up to 30 knots with as well as light winds with equal success.

While our furling main has a couple more seasons we will not hesitate to buy our next sail from you.

From Sydney Australia / Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 34.2(5001012)

Hi Brad

We received our new main, genoa and spinnaker just before Christmas.

They all fit beautifully and perform very well. Thank you for all your efforts.

However, we have had stronger breezes in Sydney in January and February and the 150% genoa even when furled doesn’t cope too well.

The mainsail you made is a cracker. With the full battens we can reef down easily and the sail holds its shape even in 25 knots of wind.

We are considering a 100% genoa as a number 3 and wonder if you would make it from Contender C3L fabric for us?

(C3L (Cross-Cut Cruise Laminate) styles are designed as a cross-cut laminate for cruising sails)

Please let me know if it is possible.

Thank you again

Dear Sirs,

I believe that you recently supplied a Spinnaker for a friend of mine, Peiter XXX, for a J24.  The boat did very well in the Tongyeoung International Regatta and came in 3rd, behind the Japanese Professional Team and the Korean National Ladies Team, so an excellent result for a 20 year old boat.  Thank You.

I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully we can have a good discussion about another J24 sails and other opportunities.

Dear Melissa,

I am pleased to report that your genoa is giving excellent service and now I should like to enquire if you are producing a new style of sail developed in Australia that is virtually a parachute for running downwind.

If you have such a sail in production, I should be interested in having a price for a chute to suit my Beneteau First 31.7.

I am a very satisfied customer of yours: One Genoa 1 and onde Genoa3.
We sail under very short - and small - competion conditions. - 11 - 15  boats
Winds and currents are - maybe - the most challenging in Norway. Often  from 0 to 14 m/second! Wind direcion changes ± 60 degrees.
Our competitors - and maybe us as well - are proven to be in the top of  this country. They (our friends and competitors) compete in any race there  is over the year - not us.
We compete in LYS-class.
In 2009 we came #1
In 2010 we came # 2
In 2011 we came # 3

By the way I’ve been using the smaller of the two spinnakers you made me last year extensively and have had significant success, winning a 180nm offshore race and a 275 nm offshore race. Only had its first (very small) hole this weekend. I’m not rated for the bigger spinnaker so it only gets used for performance handicap racing. Very happy with them.

Dear Brad,
I have now given my new sails a good work out in various wind conditions and I am totally pleased with the result. The workmanship is first class and the sails set beautifully. I will not hesitate in recommending you to members of my club for new sails. I believe you already have a query from Peter Ross.

Hello Melissa,

I know that it has been a while since my new sail was shipped, I have only just returned from an extended cruise and wished to thank you for the wonderful and timely service provided by your company. The sail arrived on time as promised and I am very happy with the finished product.

Word of Mouth is the strongest form of advertising and I have been more than happy to tell other prospective customers of my experience and recommend  your company. I believe that this has resulted in at least one other order from  Mr. Ian xxxx at this stage.

Hey Brad
I am replying to our last correspondence several years ago. I order a main and jib from you when I was in Sydney on Dancyn. Would you believe I am in Mobil Alabama! not only did the sails make it but the boat and myself seemed to survive. Recap:Sydney-SPac-Australia again to work-Great Barrier reef-Darwin-Indonesia_Thailand for a year chartering-Sumatra-Chagos-Madagascar-Mozambique-South Africa/Cape of Goodhope-Brazil(loved it!)-Caribbean-Cuba-Mobil(anti-climatic isn't it?). Anyhow the sails are shot as they should be after those miles, but they got me home! Now guess what..It is time for a new set or at least a new main. Any way you can send me the exact sails you made for me last time? They were perfect! I am working in Alaska now but will be back in 2 weeks. Perhaps then we can chat over the phone. If you are ever over in Mobil there is a sail and rum drink for you on DANCYN. You took a guy who knew nothing about sails and walked him through with out a glitch, and I got home safely Thanks
Be well

Dear Melissa,

Thank you for the advice that my sail has been shipped and for copies of the associated papers.

The sail was delivered to my house on 17th July, four days after leaving Hong Kong and the day after I arrived in Muscat.
Customs dues amounted to only USD 11 on the invoice price shown which was most agreeable.

The sail appears to be as ordered and I hope to test it tomorrow if we can find some wind in the Indian Ocean off Muscat.
Thank you for a well-coordinated and very efficient service.

Yours sincerely,

Howard  Benson.

Hi Brad:
Just a thank you for all your help in ordering our new sail which we received about a week ago.   It is a perfect fit but very stiff!!  I guess it will soften up a bit with use!
We are very pleased with your service and and the help you gave me when ordering.
Thank you all,

Hi Brad,

I’m pleased to report that my sails arrived the day before our race and fit perfectly! We voluntarily DQ’d due to safety concerns with very foggy conditions, but I know the boat will sail very competitively with this new set of sails. She points better than I ever imagined it could with the new main and the cut on the new genoa is just what I’d hoped for. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Thank you for answering all my questions! Kindly pass on my thanks to your team as well. I know where I’ll be shopping for my next set of sails!

From St. Lucia / Martinque - Triade 38 -(4000326)

Dear Melissa and Brad,

In the excitement I forgot to thank you for the excellent service you provide.

The sail was manufactured in 5-6 weeks as you had stated up front
being the busy season. The sail arrived in Martinique on the exact
date you indicated. The sail was shipped to a "boat in transit" and
there were no taxes or duty of any kind. Yes, that means zero $ !!

All I had to pay was a 15$ storage fee as I picked up the sail a few
days later as I was in St-Lucia when it arrived!

The sail is magnificent! Excellent workmanship (I bought sails from
North, Doyle, Neil Pride ans some local shop in the past and none were
better, most were of lower quality) and to the exact measurements I
provided. It fits perfectly, and sails so much better that the old
main it is replacing, making it worth every dollars invested. Your
price was half that of the best quote I got in Martinique, and you did
not try to sell me something I did not need. I got excellent advices
from you all and I really appreciate this.

Fantastic sail, fantastic service, fantastic price, cheap and fast
delivery, what else can one asks ? Maybe a photo of Brad and Melissa
on the website ;-)

Thanks for everything.

Melissa, Brad,

I received the sails and set them up yesterday. They look nice and match my requirements I am glad having taking my time for taking accurate measurements. A small issue, the headboard track slide which is too big and doesn't fit into the mast groove, but I can probably trim and adjust it. (not a big deal!)
Weather conditions were pretty harsh and I  used the genoa entirely stretched just a few minutes then needed to furl it  . I used main sail first reefing block which worked ok.
Since I am going to travel, I will write a full review in a couple of weeks.

Hello Brad,

Our Genoa now was first time set on our boat and I like to give a short feedback.

Four days after delivered in Hongkong the Sail arrived by FedEx.

Tax and custom was at low range and could be paid to FedEx directly. Very easy.

Our boat stays at the Adriatic and we have been there the last few days. (sunny but cold winds, 4 to 7 degree)

What we want to have was a robust sail also for stronger winds and to keep it set over a longer period in Summer.

Due the cloth is stronger than the old one the sail looks like double than the old (wow). The sun protection covers the leech and looks fine (exactly same color as our spray hood) and the triple stitches, the clew and head reinforcement makes a good impression. The sail fits exactly to the rig, clew is in the right position for sheeting and it is easy to furl. I am very happy with the sail, it is exactly what I want.

I like to thank You and your crew very much for the easy and certain way to handle the order.

When I am searching for a main sail for my boat – in the next few years – I will be pleased to contact you again.

Best regards

Hi Brad,
The sail arrived with one day to spare before the regatta, that was very much appreciated.
Out of four races, we used it in two.
During the second race, we won with both line honours and handicap results.  We won by so much, we were then handicapped out of the rest of the series, best race ever.
Am delighted with the sail, and had many other skippers asking about it.
Only flaw in the entire purchase was the sail bag.  Sadly the bag I received, no matter how ferocious we tried to pack it, would take no more than 1/3 of the sail.  I ended up borrowing a sail bag which was close to four times larger and only just took the entire sail then.  The bag is that small that in order to put this sail in it would defy all laws of physics.
But despite that mishap, again I can only say thankyou for a great kite.

Finally got to take the new sail out on the water yesterday.  Did real well – looks good – all seems to fit nice and sailed great.  Fits in the lazy bag good.    Looking forward to racing it.  I think it will be good bit faster than the old one.  I’ll let you know how the racing goes.

Hey Brad,
Sails are all fitted and are bloody perfect so thanks to you and your team for a job well done.

Hi Brad
I got my sail last week and have sailed it twice.  Great job! the sail looks good, flies good, and has met my every expectation .  My business partner has been so impressed with the quality of your sails, I expect he will be buying a full set for his boat before he goes cruising next year.

Hi Brad,
Received sails Friday 10th September just before we travelled for the weekend to our son's wedding. So have only opened them today Monday the 13th, and have looked at the jib and foregaff in the confines of our lounge, ( it is hail, rain and full gale here ).
I t may be some weeks before I am able to hoist them because of work required on masts and standing rigging. But, I would like to say how pleased I am with the workmanship, it could not have been better had I been stood at the elbow of the sailmaker. Please pass our thanks on your sailmakers!
Many thanks for all your patience and sympathetic understanding, as soon as they are set I shall e-mail a picture to you.
Once again many thanks and best wishes.

Dear Brad

Brad, got the main sail last Wed., it fit like a glove and sailed like a arrow. Thanks a millon fareastsails!. Let me get the measurements and we can start on the ginny.

Dear Brad,

I received the new Mainsail in Tahiti, without any problems.  Customs was fine and I am very pleased with the speed of delivery.  The new Mainsail was a perfect fit according to the information I sent you.  I have the opportunity to sail with the new sail and I am very pleased with its shape and performance.  I am also able to hoist it fully by hand and need only a few cranks of the winch handle to bring it up tight, something I couldn't do with the heavy old sail.

Thanks again for all your help and for sending a great sail as you promised.

Yours truly,   Jean-Louis LePendu

Brad - Fareast Sails,

On a recent visit from Ireland my friend Dermot with hivarengineering informed me of his recent purchase of a great quality sail at a great price for his 36 foot sail boat from you.

He has forwarded to me a copy of all the communications and details with you re that purchase.

I have, as a hobby here in Sausalito, CA. where I live, an 83 foot, cutter rig, 50 ton old wooden sail boat in need of a new mainsail and genoa jib, plus possibly other sails later.

The mainsail has approximately an 86 foot luff and about a 39 foot foot, all with old merriman bronze track slides, reuseable large headboard and tack and clew rings, I have still in good condition from my old main made in 1958 by Kenneth Watts in Los Angeles.

The mast is 103 feet, 7 below deck and 96 above all strong and sound ready for a new mainsail to be sailed in the strong winds of the San Francisco bay.

Fareastsails appears to be very capable of building sails of this size and weight.

Are you desirous of giving me details and/or a quote on the above?

Ron MacAnnan

Brad at Fareastsails,

Dear Brad,
Just wanted to thank you for your help in getting the sail. It is beautiful and the fit is like a glove. Fareastsails Customer Comments From San Franciso, USA

Hi Brad,
I got the main last friday and I put it on yesterday, which was a lovely day here in San Francisco, and the main fit like a glove and looked perfect. I just would like to thanks for the attention that you have given me in the sales dept.. and to let you know that my experience with you and the sailmakers so far has been great and I will let others know that. So, on to the next project, I hope you got my last mail and understood what kind of spinnaker (gennaker) that I am looking for. I will take off for Australia later this month (not with my boat, that will happen later this year) and be gone for about a month, so it would be great to be able to order the sail before I leave.

I just wanted to thank you for the prompt delivery and beautiful work you did on my sail and cover. It looks great, however I will not be able to test it out for a few months due to our weather here in Newfoundland. Once again, thanks for all you help and perhaps I'll be needing your services again in the future.

Hello Melissa / Brad

Brad, Melissa

Sails arrived after a little fight with FedEx Bahamas but not too bad.

All hanked on and looking great, they look really well made and I'm very pleased. Expect a few more orders from the Yacht Haven at Nassau, lots of envious eyes on the dock when they went up.

The only thing missing now is some wind! it's been hot as hell here for a fortnight now and no sign of a breeze to try them out with.

HeyHo you can't have everything.

Thanks again.

The sail arrived today and it looks fantastic. Tomorrow I'll take it to my
boat and use it in earnest, weather permitting, in a race on Saturday. I
can't wait!

Thanks for the brilliant service; I'm very impressed with your on-line order
and delivery tracking systems - not to mention your prompt response to all

I will be back.

Luciano Mascolo Customer Review From: Bainbridge Is. Washington - USA

Hello Melissa,

I am not sure who to reply to but I think this was the last email I got
from your company so I will reply to you.

I recieved my order of a heavy working jib for a commercial, sail
assisted, west coast tuna troller some time ago. I have been very busy
since then and was not able to rig the jib until yesterday. I just wanted
to say that we are very pleased with the product. It will require just a
few minor improvements of the jack line arrangement but I expected to do
that anyway. I look forward to sending you dimensions of my mainsail and
maybe another jib sometime after the summer tuna season.

We just wanted to thank you for a fine product at a reasonable price.

Hi Brad,
I took my new FarEast Sail out for a spin Yesterday and I am pleased. The shape is good and
it sets well. All of the sizing which I measured and re-measured turned out perfect.  The new
genoa makes my main look used so you will probably hear from me next spring on that one.
Thanks for your diligence on my order,

Hello Melissa and Brad:

Unbelievable!!.  The sail got to Calgary in two days and I picked it up yesterday.  We are leaving in a day or so for the boat and so glad that we had it sent out now.  Can't wait to hoist her up and see her fly.  This has been a great experience working with you and I truly want to thank you for all your help.  You will be highly recommended to any of my sailing friends looking for new sails.  I will drop you a note once I unpack it and try it out.

Brad, I got the new sails up and running yesterday. They're BEAUTIFUL! The quality and precision are superb, better than the originals. The fit was exact. The old Wind Dancer looks and feels like a new boat!
Thanks for all the help with the fitting and such. I'll be showing these off to all the guys in the yacht club this weekend.
Keith in Durango. Customer Comment From: Austrlia (2700520)

Hi guys,

Well I finally got to unpack the sail and fit to the yacht. It is a very nice job and I can find no fault, (although I have not been to sea with it yet)

It is about 500mm short in height and about the same on the boom. This is no problem as in time I imagine there will be a little stretch and better to be a little short than too long. I still need to get the battens made, other wise I am ready to go on my trip to NZ, Tonga, Cook Is & Fiji.

Thanks a lot for your great service and you will be getting all my future business.

Hi, Brad,

Sails arrived this morning.  They look great, and I thank you very much.  I bent them on the boat earlier today, and everything seems to be in order.  I have a little more adjusting to do, but that said, should have a good idea if there are any problems within a day or so -- but I expect none.

Thanks again for all your help, and please pass my thanks along to the others who made this work.

Anyway i am looking into getting a spinnaker. the boat is masthead rigged and lenght of mast about 40foot. Could you please give me a quote for above sail.
Yours gratefully,

Dear Brad,

I received my sails just in time for summer holidays, and I am most
satisfied with shape, workmanship, detals, and our communication during the
ordering process. See pictures over - the sails were brand new, and tne
seems had not yet set themselves. But - you see 2 very flat sail. The main
gets more depth forward with a little more wind. I only had about 10 knots
of headwin when picturs was taken. Compared to old sails: more speed, less

Also customs was easily dealt with - as you indicated. Thank you!!

Next move, will be to fix the jib on is furler and sail with it, that will happen only in 8 weeks from now , we still have snow  and ice on the river... I will write you later to let you know how well it performed.

<>Do you do a main cover which incorporates the lazy jacks and a zipper on the top. The bag stays on the boom and the sail falls into it when dropped. I’ve seen them sold under the name “stack pack” before.

Boom length is 2.9m with 2 lazy jacks at about 1m & 2m from the mast.

<>If you do them, a quote would be appreciated, with delivery to Geelong, Australia.

PS: I bought a main off you about 2 years ago – very happy with it. Boat was “Spirit” sail no. G341. Boat has been renamed “No Rush”.

Hello Brad,

Therefore, I would like to order for my Dufour29 also a reefing genoa with you. In may you have already given me an offer for a 110% performance genoa with sunbrella suncover for plastimo 510T system. Is it possible to produce the sail with window? Can I get a boomcover and foresailcover from you too? Please make me an offer for sail and covers. Another question: What discount can we get when a friend of mine at the same time like me orders a sail?

Best Regards,

Hi Brad,

Just wanted to let you know that my new sail arrived this morning. I unpacked her and spread her out for a fine tooth comb inspection. I must say, I was quite impressed with the quality and workmanship. Kudos to the sail makers.

I hauled her up, and after a few adjustments to the rigging, she fit like a glove. She was tighter than a prom queen on homecoming night! And delivery.....Half way around the world in less than 24 hours. WHAT!? I was amazed. You were 4 days earlier than the expected completion date. Amazing!

Even though I do sail and canvas work, I could not beat your price for just the sail kit from Sailrite. Now you have me thinking about a new Genoa. I'll let you know.

Thanks Brad for your great service. You have recommendations from me. I'll spread the word.

Hi Melissa and Brad,

I am happy to inform you I have received the sails in good condition.
Last weekend I have made a little winter-sailing-trip with the new sails.
They fit brilliantly, and the performance is excellent, far better than with my old sails.

So I want to thank you for all your help.

Kind Regards,
Floris Prakke

Hallo Brad,
today I received my new sails. I must say that I am really impressed by the manufacturing. In detail the sails offer more for less money than I would have got from any German and Hollandian sailmaker   who I asked for quotation. Now I cannot wait to get the boat into water to tryout the sails. I will report as soon as I fixed and sailed them.
Best regards

Hello Melissa,

Thanks for the email concerning that the sail has now been shipped. I can not wait for it to arrive. Please pass on a thank you to everyone involved. The whole process has been a pleasure and your concern and follow up emails in the making of my sail has been just so great. I have mentioned your company to a number of friends over the years and I know that they have used your company, the latest being Richard Fiddles who had a spinnaker made, currently cruising the east coast of Australia who has informed me that he is totally wrapped in the workmanship and how the spinnaker is performing. This is my first yacht so have never had a reason to purchase sails before but will use your company and recommend your services to anyone I come across.

One last thing, do you only make sail covers or do you also make Lasyjacks also.

Once again, thanks for everyting,

Hello Brad and Melissa,
The sails arrived late last week in good condition. Thank you. On Saturday I fitted the Genoa to the boat. It is perfect.
I have not fitted the Main as yet because I am trying to buy battens for it. No point putting it on the boat till I do that.
Wind conditions here on Saturday were about 10 to 12 knots NE to SE. With the new Genoa and the old Main (a very tired sail),
the boat made 6.5 knots to windward. Not bad for a 12 ton wooden sloop.
I will not need to fit sail tracks as the headsail sheets very nicely from blocks fitted in two positions on the gunwhale,
one for on the wind, one for off the wind. The clew of the sail sets about 1.2  metres above the deck,
which allows for good visibility under the sail. The sail has an excellent shape and I think I will be able to carry it in winds up to 25kts without furling.
I will let you know how the Main fits and performs, but so far so good with the measurements and the making. Please pass my compliments to
the sailmakers.
The next step may be an MPS, something big, light, and easy to handle with a small crew. I would be interested to know what you think.
Regards, Graham.

I couldn't believe my eyes when the FedEx truck arrived this morning with my sail!  All the way from Hong Kong, and it left there on Tuesday of this week?  I wasn't expecting it for at least another week or two.
First impression ... IT'S BEAUTIFUL!  To be sure, right now it's only partially unfolded on my living room floor, but from what I can see, the workmanship is excellent, and the Pearson 30 logo and numbers are perfect ... colors and all.
I can't wait to hoist it and have a better look then, but first I'll have to get the boat in the water.  I'll let you know more later, but so far ... thanks so much, it looks great!

Dear Brad,

I waited so long before to feedback to have the time to deeply test your mainsail in a long cruise in Croatia.
I am fully satisfied of your work, the only little thing I can say is that the sail is a bit little but it is ok.
Please, if you need, give my email account to your next italian customers (as Mr. Nicola Manca).
Thanks again, best regards

Melissa & Brad - sail has arrived and I've checked it out and would have to say that it seems well made, good material, and very good value for money. How it actually flies will have to wait until the springtime as my boat is going up on the hard this week.
Thank you

Hi Brad

the battens arrived today so I will install them on this weekend. I put the sails up for a sail last weekend and they fit very well and filled nicely. Please thank everyone at Far East Sails for the job that they have done, they have made me a very happy sailor

Code 1:
For light air reaching. It is for basically the same conditions as what you now know as a VMG spinnaker, going downwind in conditions light enough that you have to sail tighter apparent wind angles, 60 to 90 degrees apparent.

Code 2:
Medium air running. It is used in the same conditions as a symmetrical AP spinnaker, 90 to 135 degrees apparent, for going downwind from 8 knots to 20 knots.

Code 3:
Medium air reaching spinnaker. Used for reaching in 10 to 20 knots apparent, the wind angle where you can carry it will vary with wind speed but generally between 70 and 110 degrees apparent.

Code 4:
Heavy air runner. Full size, used for running in 20 to 30 knots.

Code 5:
Heavy air reaching for over 20 knots.

Code 6:
Storm runner for over 30 knots.

Code 0:
The Code 0 is a specialty tight reaching sail, and can also double as a heavy air spinnaker. Current rules require the midgirth to be at least 75% of the foot, which is meant to prevent making a 180% genoa and calling it a spinnaker. (On a genoa the midgirth has to be 50% or less of the foot) They are made with the luff as close to straight as possible, and the shape as flat as possible, without having so much roach on the leech that it flaps too much. In light air they can be flown with an apparent wind angle as tight as 40 degrees.
