These are samples of various cuts that are available. When requesting quotes, please refer to these examples to help better describe the spinnaker that you are seeking. Colors are selected by identifing panel numbers, such as, Panels 1,2,3,4 Red, Panels 5,6,7,8, Green, Etc.


Type 5 Drifter



Type 6 Drifter




A drifter is to be cut with horizontal seam and can be 150% to 180% depending on point of sheeting. Most of the drifters will be made of 1.5 oz. spinnaker cloth.

A Drifter is a full-draft, lightweight nylon No. 1 genoa that does away with the frustration and aggravation of sailing in light air. Drifters are a hybrid designed specifically for cruising sailors. Its wind range is from 1-15 knots when the apparent wind angle is 30-90 degrees. It can be used on a run when set wing-and-wing with a whisker pole.
